WHAT IS THE GIRLS ACADEMY?

The Girls Academy (GA) is the leading youth development platform for the best female soccer players in the United States. The GA is the only national youth soccer platform that represents the collective vision of member clubs and actively engages the voice of the players to take real ownership of the league. The GA embraces the desire of club members and players to maintain an unrivaled standard of excellence in coaching, competition, and regional and national showcase events throughout the year. 

WHAT MAKES THE GA DIFFERENT?

The GA offers top-tier competition at a reasonable cost. Other leagues cost anywhere from $5000-$7000 whereas to play in the GA with NUSA, the cost is between $2000-$3000. The GA was established in 2020 as a replacement for the US Developmental Academy and is a platform solely for female athletes. The GA showcase events attract thousands of college coaches each year and 93% of GA players aspire to play in college. WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF PARTICIPATING IN THE GA?

There are many benefits to participating in the GA, including: 

  • Increased exposure to college coaches of all levels 
  • Access to top-level competition 
  • Development of individual skills and tactical understanding 
  • Opportunities to compete in regional and national showcases / events 
  • Networking with other top youth players regionally and nationally 

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED WITH THE GA?

Tryouts: During the open window for TN State Soccer we will have tryouts for our U13-U19 age groups. 

Outside the open window: If you are currently with a TSSA member soccer club you will need to request a release and come to a training session to be evaluated.  Anyone that is new to the area can tryout with the club at anytime during the season.  However, space at NUSA is often limited.

WHAT IS THE COST OF PLAYING IN THE GA?

WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE FOR THE GA?

NUSA will play in the South Central Conference of the GA. Most games will be played on the weekends. Showcase or National Events (2 per year) will very likely have games on weekdays.

WHAT IS THE COMPETITION LEVEL FOR GIRLS ACADEMY?

The competition level for the GA is very high. The league features some of the best youth players in North America. 

WHAT IS THE COACHING STAFF LIKE FOR THE GA?

The Girls Academy (GA) League and Nashville United Soccer Academy (NUSA) pride themselves on having highly qualified coaching staff, emphasizing the importance of professional development and excellence in youth soccer coaching. Both organizations ensure that their coaches hold United States Soccer Federation (USSF) licenses, which underscores their commitment to delivering top-tier coaching and fostering player development. 

WHAT IS THE ENVIRONMENT LIKE FOR THE GA?

The environment for the NUSA GA is very competitive and will challenge players to reach new heights. Teams will train 3 days per week Our coaching staff is committed to cultivating an environment that empowers each player to reach their best potential as an exceptional athlete and human being while simultaneously celebrating each individual player’s journey with a lifelong love of the game through competition, showcases, and camaraderie. 

CAN A PLAYER PLAY IN THE GA AND FOR THEIR MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL TEAM?

Yes, a player can play in both the Girls Academy and for their middle school or high school team.
