Racheal Foxley Helps Lead Girls Academy International Select Team to Undefeated England Tour
NASHVILLE, TN (August, 25 2026) – Nashville United Soccer Academy (NUSA) Girls Academy Director Racheal Foxley recently returned from England after helping lead the Girls Academy League International Select Team to an undefeated showing during the league’s inaugural international trip.
Selected as one of just two coaches to lead the team, Foxley helped guide a talented group of players from across the United States to three victories against some of the most recognized academy programs in the world. The Girls Academy International Select Team defeated Manchester City, 4-1, Celtic, 2-0, and Manchester United, 7-2, completing the tour with a perfect 3-0 record.
The International Select Team featured players identified through the Girls Academy League’s Talent ID and National ID Camp pathway, bringing together top talent from across the country for the opportunity to train, compete and experience the game in an international environment.
For Foxley, the opportunity carried an even deeper significance. After moving to the United States from England in 2012, the trip brought her back to her hometown 14 years later, this time as a coach leading some of the brightest young players in the American game.
“A week I’ll never forget. What an opportunity and an honor. Coming out to the States in 2012, I could have never imagined that 14 years later I’d be taking an all-star team to my hometown to coach against some of the best academies in the country. What a full-circle moment.”
Beyond the results, Foxley pointed to the experience as another example of the continued growth of opportunities available to young female players.
“It was an absolute pleasure to coach such a talented group of players whose futures are incredibly bright. Watching them compete, learn, adapt and represent the Girls Academy was something they should be proud of. More than anything, this was a true testament to how far the women’s game and girls soccer has come.”
She continued:
“Seeing these players have the opportunity to experience something like this fills me with so much pride. Playing just a small part in that truly is what makes it all worth it. This week taught me so much both as a coach and as a person. Coaching is a journey, and there is always room to learn and grow, especially from the people you meet along the way. Looking forward to what’s ahead.”
Foxley’s selection to the coaching staff reflects the leadership, knowledge and commitment to player development she brings to NUSA each day. As Girls Academy Director, she plays an integral role in shaping the club’s girls pathway while mentoring young athletes both on and off the field.
Her opportunity to represent the Girls Academy League internationally, and help lead the inaugural International Select Team to an undefeated tour against elite European opposition, is a tremendous accomplishment and a proud moment for the entire Nashville United Soccer Academy community.
